Packing Case of Metal Bands Mar. 23, 2018
When we ship metal bands, we pack them in cardboard boxes, plastic boxes, or wooden cases.
Cardboard, you may feel it is fragile for shipping overseas!
But those damages are very rare. We use firm cardboard for export packing of metal bands.
Cardboard was first made in the U.K. as new material sustaining silk huts!
It was breathable and good cushioning, the best for silk huts.
Later it spread to the U.S. and in 1909 its manufacturing started in Japan.
In environmental aspects
cardboard is 100% natural and renewable products.
They finally come back to the earth.
Our metal bands are thin and needs care when packing.

On June 21 this year, we celebrated our 32nd anniversary of establishment. We appreciate all of you who helped us in many ways. Please accept my thank-you to all of you again.

To change the subject, Japan suffers quite a
few natural disaster from year to year in this summer season. This year, it is
likely that heat waves and heavy precipitation will continue to become more
frequent. I become aware of global warming is escalating every year.
Unfortunately, the US president Mr.Trump declared withdrawal from Paris
Agreement, however, world-famous corporations like Amazon, Apple and Microsoft
announced that “we are still in”, criticizing the president. I hope the world
will proceed to control the global warming problem in unison.
Concerning world political situation, the
number of terrorist attack has increased significantly in spite of people’s
anticipation that IS will be destroyed in near future. Terrible news of terrorist attack hurts my
feeling deeply.
I wish a better world to come conquering the
racial and religious prejudice.
To talk about technological innovation, there
have been significant computer developments during last three decade. The
application of IT technology like automated driving system, AI speaker will be contributing
to the modernization of our life style.
Learning the new technology to cope with
changing situation is essential attitude for us.

2017.01.05 A Happy New Year!
I
would like to greet all of our customers and coworkers at this opportunity.
Last
year, we have seen a series of unpredictable events like Brexit, the election
of US president, a big earthquake in Kyushu island, and disaster caused by
abnormal weather in all parts of the country.
When
we face the uncertainty of the world, we need bird’s eye view.
This
year is the year of Rooster (in twelve zodiac signs), so as the proverb says “Better
be the bill of a
rooster than the tail of an ox” , I am proud of being a leader of small group.
The
Dymco Company is a small corporation, however, we are leading company in steel
belt business thanks to our innovative technology of high quality steel belt
manufacturing.
Being
too proud of current small success is a nonsense. When the business model of
Dymco is attractive, the entry of our competitor is inevitable. So catching up
to diversified market requirements is essential activity for us. Through

In our lab we have one unit of double steel belt heat press conveyor. This was made 2 years ago and has been open to our customers.

Life test of steel belts and metal belts
Dymco is doing belt life examination, for our belts must perform well in various applications such standard conveyors, all stainless steel food conveyors, intermittent drive system, cooling and heating system, or suction / vacuum conveyors.
The picture below is high-speed belt life test unit.
Test belt width is 2 to 50mm and its length is 1000mm max.
Belt speed is 500～1000m/min.
This test goes on every day for 24 hours and data is stored.
We do this test until belts are broken or belts mark theoretical maximum life. When belts are broken extremely in a short period of time, we examine its cause and improve belts. This is one of reasons that our belts are getting better in belt life.

Precise drive puropose metal endless belt: Dymco ring rolled endless belt
We manufacture ring rolled endless belts with stainless steel. These belts are used for precise driving in many forms.
Ring rolled endless belt is completely seamless endless. Steps by welding are not found after repeated rolling. So this belt is often evaluated for its precision compared with redundancy and backlash found in plastic belts and timing belts.
Precise driving of X-Y tables, driving of printer rollers, or trial of CVT belts.
Also the minimum thickness of this belt is 40 micron meter. It allows introduction of small pulleys. We may be able to make it thinner. So if you need to used small pulleys, please contact us.

Steel belt, metal belt and sleeves in printing machines
IGAS 2015 was held on Sep. 11 to 16 lst week at Tokyo Big Sight.
IGAS, International Graphic Arts Show is one of the four largest printing related shows in the world, together with drupa in Germany, PRINT in the USA, and IPEX in the UK.Dymco's steel belts, metal belts and sleeves are employed in various types of printing machines.
Our seamless sleeves are working as fuser rolls in laser printer and cpiers.
These sleeves are just 30 micron meters thick and seamless. Due to this thin metal temperature of fusing rolles go up rapidly, which results in shorter standing time of printers.
And imaging process in ink jet printing or silk screen printing, our suction or vacuum belts convey paper and films right under the ink jet head and the screen plate.
In digital printing and offset, our sleeves have potential to make blancket roll surface.

This conveyor provides a flat stage for inkjet printing, laser or camera inspection, and many kinds of secondary process.
Contacts are coming from wide areas of auto industry, printing, food machinery, semi-conductors, and high-functional film idustry.
Especially Japaese customers visit us to have experiments with our demonstration conveyors. Based on these test results we reach certain specifications of original conveyors of these users.

The city office of Yokohama autorizes "Yokohama intellectual property mirai company" every year. They evaluate companies' intellectual property and its positive usage. This year 41 medium and small-sized businesses are authorized. Dymco is one of them.

Steel belt, metal belt, takt drive conveyor
Stainless steel takt drive conveyor realizes positioning precison tolerance of 50 micron meters. This tolerance may vary depending on conveyor length. Howeve it is clear that this order of precision is realized by features of stainless stell belts. They do not elongate under room temperature. Thickness and surface smoothness is uniform in the entire belt.

EV, its sales is stagnant
It is reported that sales of EV, Electric Vehicles, is not going on well.
They point out 2 reasons.
Price is high and its cruising range is limited.
These reasons lie in batteries.
EV batteries are expensive and their capacity is not much.
There is need to be improved.
If you think of roll to roll process in production of batteries,
why not try steel belts to increase process speed?

Battery materials are laminated between upper belt and lower belt on and on.

Nipping and smooth metal surface for film production (2)
We need to talk about 'Air Roll.'
This is a metal roll for film forming and lamination.
It is made by outer surface of thin metal roll, roll shaft, and air between a shaft and a outer metal roll.
Thickness of this outer metal roll is around 0.2 to 0.4mm.
When you push its roll surface, you can feel that the pressed area sinks a little.
Pressure inside this roll is 0.3Mpa max and is adjustable.
So we can set different inner pressure exactly as we change and try several rubber rolls to get the best nipping.
Yet this outer metal roll is smooth and does not damage films.

Printed electronic heaters
This is on blood bags you find in hospitals. It is not cold, but gets warm by heaters printed in plastic blood bag. So blood inside is warm.
It is expected that warm blood mitigates side effects of new blood when it goes through a body.
When circuits are printed on plastic films, surface of these plastic films must be dead flat. Stainless steel vacuum conveyor serves dead flat surface and continuous printing on roll-to-roll stream.

On Steel Belt No.14 Welded Endless Belt #4
Above is a figure of stress (S) against the number of cycles to failure (N).
This curve begins to get flat at over one million bendings and becomes flat at over ten million bendings.Pulley diameter = Belt thickness x 700
Coefficient 700 is set to make the same stress as the one in the chart above so that the belt endures 10 million bendings.
When bendings are not so many,
700 can be 600 or 500
This is to be discussed and adjusted when we decide belt specifications.
