June 28, 2017 Suction Transport, Heating Conveyor, Heat and Press and Lamination; these tests can be done at Dymco Lab

 
We wish more and more people come to our lab to watch metal belts and how they work in process.  We can hardly find such occasions, can we?

Also when our guests experience metal belts,  their idea becomes clear and they know what should be done next and how specifications should be.

Below are things you can do in our lab:

1. Suction transport: conveyor c-c 1000mm, belt width 280mm
    Speed 100 meters/min, tests under room temperature

2. Double metal belt heat and press: Upper belt c-c 500mm, Lower belt c-c 1000mm, Belt width 150mm, Speed 3m/min, test temperature 200 degrees C max

3. Heating conveyor: c-c 2920mm, belt width 500mm
    Speed 120 meters/min, test temperature 300 degrees C max

4. Food conveyor: c-c 1420mm, belt width 300mm
    Speed 7 meters/min, test under room temperature

5. Regular conveyor: c-c 600mm,  belt width 80 - 300mm
    Speed 75 meters/min max, test under room temperature

2016.9.2 Stainless Steel Belt Material for the Double Steel Belts Press and Heat Conveyor


Double steel belt press and heat conveyor heats and presses material at the same time.

These process makes curled material flat, forms thermosetting material, impregnates thermoplastic resin, or transfer sublimable ink - printed images.

 
Belts need to stand temperature of 250 degrees C, pressure of 2kgf/㎠ and tension at the same time.
 
Metal belts are the right one, not plastic or rubber belts, in these conditions.  Especially Dymco orders a steel maker spring type of special steel for this application. 
This makes much difference in tensile strength along the welded area.  In general tensile strength of welded areas goes down by 30 to 40% compared with parent material.  However special steel keeps strength of parent material even in welded areas!
 
Take a look at SUS 304 spring type, the most popular metal belt material.
Tensile strength in parent material is around 1200N/㎟ and just around 750N/㎟  in welded areas!

Double Steel Belt Heat Press Conveyor

In our lab we have one unit of double steel belt heat press conveyor.  This was made 2 years ago and has been open to our customers. 

This explicit features are
1. Compact.  Much smaller than conventional heat press units.
    Pulley diameter 90mm, while conventional pulley 800mm.
    Center distance 490mm.
2. Best for testing before volume production
       
Double steel belt heat press conveyor:
2 coated steel belts capture material and apply pressure and heat
