Why not upgrade by metal belts and metal belt conveyors? Mar. 19, 2018

In the daily inquiries, we often see customers who try the metal belt for the first time.
So, today I listed the general advantages of metal belts.

1) Low risk of contamination. Unlike plastic belts, metal belts make little dust and fray come out from its surface.
2) The metal belt features very flat and smooth surface.
3) The metal belt is heat resistant, corrosion resistant, and, wear resistant.   
4) The metal belt is sanitary, and suitable for a food conveyor. 
5) Elongation of metal belts is very limited, which contributes the high precision power transmission and transportation.

The applications of the metal belt are power transmission in robot arms, high precision intermittent /continues conveyors.
Recently, we also receive number of inquiries for the process systems developed from metal belt conveyors, such as vacuum conveyors and double belt press conveyors.
For the vacuum conveyors and double belt press conveyors, we have demonstration conveyors in our laboratory. trials and tests are available on these conveyors.
On our new double belt press demonstration conveyor (Double Press No.2), maximum pressure is up to 3000kgf, maximum temperature is up to 250 degrees Celsius on the belt surface, and the belts are 400mm wide.
Additionally, cooling process is available on our Double Press No.2 as well as heating.
The detail of Double Press No.2 will be uploaded on our website soon.

We provide a questionnaire to summarize the of the customers’ requirements.
We can provide design the belt and the strength calculation through the information on the questionnaire.

Steel Belt as Band Electrode Mar. 9, 2018

T-die method is one of the major ways to produce plastic films.
Thin melted plastic is extruded from the T-die and goes down to the chill roler.
At this point the band electrode or the wire is used to charge thin film to get it stick to the chill roller tight without generating bubbles. 

 DYMCO supplies these band electrodes.
These bands are thin stainless steel open belts, thickness 50 micron meters.
Advantages of stainless steel belts as band electrodes are:



1. Ultra thin
2. Highly tensile

3. Belt edges are rounded.  No burrs.

Double Belt Press Heating and pressing system leads ironing effects Jan. 26, 2018



Let us introduce  iroing effect of our  double press conveyor.
This effect is realized by "surface pressure."
As two belts catch and press the work, pressure is applied in the area, not one line or one point.

One example is curled films,  Curles are often found as films are rolled on small rolls.
These curls become flat after surface pressure of the two belts.

                                                  4 films are curled as red lines tell.
                                             
                                                                         

Films are inserted.  They are heated and press by the 2 belts.


                                                                               
                                                               Curles are corrected.

Friction Pad, Enforcing Friction and Grip Jan. 19, 2018



All of our belts are manufercutered on our plant in Hamamatsu-shi Shizuoka.
Most belts are shipped directly from this factory to our customers.

Other products like  ”Super-Thin Friction Pad” , however , are usually shipped from Dymco in Yokohama.

This pad is thin and rough face. 
It is inserted between two connecting parts like the base and the nut.
Due to its rough surface this tie and connetion becomes tight.
Good example is a scalar robot.  
Its arm junction is made up of several parts.
When a friction pad is inserted, connecion of these parts become tight.
Furthermore, size of these parts cannne smaller,
becasue the grip is strengthened, conneion areas become smaller.
This makes the entire robot compact and light.

This friction surface is possible for many parts.
Chuck parts, high-friction roller are another examples.

By the way when we packed these pads, we found a lucky heart.

One of the leading packign material maker in Japan presents the heart-shaped buble wrap at the very rare rate, almost one-ten-thousandth.
The sense of humor  makes me smile and I get more motivated for my work !

New Year Message from Dymco, Stainless Steel Belt Supplier Jan. 9, 2018

Here is the new year message of the president of Dymco, Mr. Tetsuo Taga:

 Happy New Year !

Let me express greetings at the beginning of 2018.

Last year, younger generation played active role in their fields.

Professional Shogi-Player Fuii with 29 straight win, high school baseball player Kiyomiya with 111 home runs, sprinter Kiryu with 9.98 second in 100m competition, etc.

When I hear about their constant endeavor to achieve the goal, I feel I have to live up to my own belief.

Younger generation of Dymco, stainless steel belt smaker, employee also made significant progress in their role.

Meanwhile, there have been so many big business scandals last year.

It is regrettable for those business leaders disgracing their names by misconduct.

Let me introduce passage excerpted from “Children learn what they live, by Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph.D.”  I learned that The Crown Prince of Japan has been deeply impressed by the poem.
/ If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.

/ If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.

/ If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.

/ If a child lives with encouragement, he learns to be confident.

/ If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith in himself

 and those about him.

These phrases seem to be unrelated to company management at first glance, however, I am confident that they are significant in our business conduct.
