For example, the original movement belt pulley (d): 20mm, deceleration ratio (i): 5, in this case, following movement belt pulley (D) becomes D=i･d=5×20=100mm.
Under steel belt transmission, the steel belt thickness is decided by the diameter of the original movement belt pulley, so thinner steel belt is required.

Steel Belt (7) The good example of the power transmission

The good example of the power transmission is a reducer. Regarding the power transmission, the diameter’s ratio of the original movement and following movement becomes the ratio of deceleration. Therefore, at the deceleration, if the belt pulley of the original movement is not small enough, the pulley diameter of the following movement are getting larger.
