Inspection also makes use of dead flat surface.
Vacuum conveyor keeps the same distance between measuring tools and objects on a belt by its flat surface.  Laser-type measuring machines and camera needs precise clearance from objects to capture their real figure.  Substrates, wafers, flat sheets, etc are inspected precisely and  continuously.
The picture below measures vertical fluctuations of the belt by laser.

Printing can be done on paper, plastic sheets and films, cloth, non-woven fabric, glass, ceramic sheets and others.

The picture below conveys paper envelops.  Vacuum conveyor is inclined.
It is not set parallel to the ground.  But this conveyor keeps envelops on the belt.

It is printing.
Screen printing is now widely used in many process, such as writing circuits on print circuit boards and locating electrodes on solar cells with conductive silver paste.

What about tracking?
Our vacuum conveyor is equipped with Edge Positioning Control Unit.
This unit controls belt tracking within a few milimeters.
When this conveyor runs for 8 hours a day,
horizontal belt fluctuations is within a few milimeters.

This belt runs straight, because the driven pulley shaft is controlled by Edge Positioning Control Unit.
